Natore District covers 1,900.05 km2 (733.61 square miles). It is bounded by Naogaon and Bogra districts to the north, Pabna and Kushtia districts to the south, Pabna and Sirajganj districts to the east, and Rajshahi District to the west. The distance between Natore and Dhaka is 220 kilometers. Lalpur is the area with the lowest average yearly rainfall region in Bangladesh.
The district is divided into 7 upazilas and 8 pourashavas. The population according to the last census was close to 18.60 lakh. The literacy rate of this district averages at 71.4% which is quite close to the national average of 74.7%.
Rani Bhabani's palace is one of Nature's tourist attractions. It is a historical palace located in the Bongojol neighborhood near Natore (Madrasa more/old bus stop). Rani Bhobani has a college and other schools named after her.
Chalan Beel is a vast, natural wetland. During the monsoon, the Bil expands and reaches four upazilas (sub-districts) in the district. Picnic parties visit Cholon Bil throughout the year.
Uttara Gonobhaban (previously Dighapotia Rajbari) was the historic home of Natore's rulers. Today, it is the Prime Minister's official house in North Bengal.
The main source of income for people living in Natore is agriculture. So, the district isn’t quite developed yet. But it has shown signs of improvements over the years.
