These three gas fields supply about one-third of the country's total production. Besides, Ashuganj thermal power station is the second largest power generating station in the country. Ashuganj Fertilizer Factory is the largest urea fertilizer factory in the country. Garment industries, leather factories, textiles, iron mills, electricity, and natural gas establishments, and agriculture-based plants have created a lot of employment.
