Noakhali District is an important commercial city located in the southeastern coastal region of Bangladesh. This district belongs to the Chittagong division; the total area is 3600.99 sq km. It is bounded by the Comilla district to the north, the Meghna estuary and Bay of Bengal to the south, the Feni and Chittagong districts to the east, Lakshmipur and Bhola districts to the west. Noakhali district is well connected by road and waterways. The main road here is connected with the Dhaka-Chittagong highway. There are ferries connecting the district to various islands and coastal areas.

This district has several tourist attractions. Places to visit here include Sonapur Beach, Chatla Haor, Hatiya Island, Ramgati, etc. Gandhi Ashram was established by Mahatma Gandhi during India's independence movement, this ashram holds historical significance. Begumganj Shahi Mosque and Chatla Shitala Mandir are also historical monuments here.

Noakhali Science and Technology University, Noakhali Law College, Abdul Malek Ukil Medical College, Noakhali Government College, Begumgonj Textile Engineering College, etc. are famous educational institutions in this district. The importance of this area is also immense from the administrative point of view.
