Chouhatta, Sylhet
In the middle of the colorful, busy, and bustling localities of Sylhet Sadar lies a small area with a small population named Chowhatta. It is a small locality under Sylhet Metropolitan City’s Kotwali thana and is operated under the jurisdiction of Sylhet City Corporation’s ward no. 17. Since it is a city area, Chowhatta offers an urban vibe, and it is a place of growing communities.
Chowhatta is connected by the Nayasarak Road, VIP Road, and the Hazrat Shah Jalal Road. And all these roads meet at Chowhatta Point, and it is one of the important locations in the area. So, if you want a tour of this locality, you will need the Chowhatta area guide, which starts from Chowhatta Point.
Chowhatta Point has bus stops that allow people to travel to different parts of the Sylhet District. The Hazrat Shahjalal Rah. Mazar Sharif is less than a kilometer away from Chowhatta Point. That is why the roads around the area are always filled with traffic and noise. That is also why the property price in the area is very high. The only drawback of the area’s communication system is that it has no railway station nearby.
You will notice various showrooms and service centers on either side of the roads in Chowhatta. There are several important banks and ATM booths around the area, such as Eastern Bank Ltd., Trust Bank Ltd., BRAC Bank Ltd., etc. Some of the popular electronic brand showrooms in the area are Samsung, Realme, Vivo, Singer, Vision, ECO, LG, Toshiba, etc. It means you can easily purchase your necessary electronic items without having to step out of the area zone.
One of the good things about Chowhatta is that despite being a city area with medium to occasional heavy traffic, it has sufficient greenery here and there. And even though there aren’t many notable landmarks in the area, there are still a few commonly recognized places. Some of them are Hazrat Jalal Ahmod (Rh:) Mazar, Red Crescent Maternity Hospital & Child Welfare Centre, District Judge Court, Volananda Raskunjo Sebamondol (Ashrom), Chowhatta Tennis Court, etc.
The most notable educational and medical institution in the area is the Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Medical University. The Monru Shopping City is the only big shopping complex in the area. Although there aren’t many significant educational institutions in the area, people in the area do have access to renowned educational institutions in nearby areas.
