Kumar para, Sylhet

Kumar para, a place which is located in the heart of Sylhet division and easily accessible from various parts of the city. This is also the administrative seat of Sylhet Division. It is centrally situated and accessible from various parts of the city.

Just to give you a glimpse of its importance, Kumarpara is noted for its vibrant cultural and educational activities. It also houses important institutions such as the Sylhet Government College, one of the oldest educational institutions in the region, established in 1871. There is also a women’s medical college, Sylhet government Model School and MC college in the area nearby. These institutions have contributed significantly to the educational landscape of Sylhet.

However, This place also has a commercial and business importance which impacts the whole Sylhet division. There are also mosques, hotels, markets like Mira bazar, Sports complex, Kushighat Bazar and Jatra flagship Sylhet city centre and Surma river also flows beside this area.

Since it is a commercial area, shopping centres are a big chunk of this green city. If you want to visit tea gardens or other tourist spots like Ratargul swamp forest and Jaflong, you can easily go to those places through Kumarpara.
