Sutrapur is one of the renowned thanas of Dhaka district. Sutrapur is surrounded by Paltan thana, Motijheel thana, and Sabujhbagh thana on the north; Keranigonj upazila on the south; Kotwali and Bangshal thana on the west; and Sabujhbagh, Jatrabari, and Gendaria thana on the east. Sutrapur has some of the city’s oldest enterprises. Call Ready was founded in 1948 as Arju Light House, a tiny business that hired lights and photographs for celebrations. They quickly expanded into microphones and loudspeakers, providing them for several significant political gatherings and rallies. As of 2017, they still had an establishment in Lakhsmibazar.
Sutrapur is home to some of the city’s oldest and most prestigious institutions, including Government Shaheed Suhawardy College, St. Gregory’s High School, Dhaka Collegiate School, Muslim Government High School, and Pogose School.
There are some issues to be considered about Sutrapur, including underdevelopment areas, teen gangs, crime control, pollution, gathering, etc. Overall, it is a place where a family can have everything it needs, but for a sound sleep, this place needs more concentration.
