One of the largest planned townships to come up in Bangladesh is the Purbachal New Town Project, also known as Purbachal Residential Model Town. It stretches over 6,227 acres located in Rupganj thana of Narayanganj district and Kaliganj thana of Gazipur district and is expected to be Bangladesh’s biggest planned township.
