Chandanaish, Chattogram
Chandanaish is a village in Chattogram district. The Chattogram-Cox’s Bazar highway crosses Chandanaish. The eastern section of this upazila is covered with tree-covered slopes and natural forests. This location dates back around 2000 years. During Mughal rule, Arakan served as a seaport. Merchants from Burma and several Middle Eastern nations used to deal in the fibre wood of the beautiful and fragrant sandalwood grown in the region at Munsef Bazar in the upazila.
The region is thought to have been named Chandanaish for the sandalwood. Chandanaish was declared an upazila in 1983. This upazila has nine unions and one municipality. Dhopacchari Union is located in mountainous terrain around Bandaban, Rangunia, Dohazari, Hasimpur, and Kanchanabad. Three units are somewhat hilly. Patia and Rangunia are located north of Chandanaish, with Satkania to the south, Bandarban and Rangunia to the east, and Anwara upazila to the west. It is important to note that there is currently no seaport or sandalwood in this region. The metropolitan region of Kanchanabad no longer has apparent mineral resources like white soil, valuable stones, thami, and towel weaving.
Hazrat Shah Amin Ullah (RA), Hazrat Mostan Ali Shah (RA), Hazrat Hafiz Ansur Ali (RA), Hazrat Akkel Ali Shah, Caliph of Garangia Darbar, and Hazrat Mao—all these people were born in this place and nearby.
